Our trip was awesome. The property was great, small pool at was perfect for after going to th beach. The house held our family and 3 dogs. The beach is walking distance and the house was out of the way of most traffic yet still close. The house will definitely be at the top of our list again.only issue is one back door latch needs to be fixed. But house is older but had pretty much all we needed except food! Thanks!
We loved this home. It was in an awesome location, minutes from the beach and attrations. The pool in the back was another plus. Would rent this house out again.
Excellent little house with a great pool in the backyard. Only 2 minutes from the beach. I was expecting the backyard to be immaculate considering I booked 10 nights but that was not the case. Cigarette butts and beer cans still left over from people before, not cool when you have a toddler running around the backyard and cigarette butts everywhere,otherwise good deal!!!
Dryer wasn't drying the clothes. But that was all we found wrong. Nice location. Quiet.Second time to stay in the house, and will again if we can.
Great place to stay on the Island! House needs a few new light bulbs and a couple of new bed pillows but overall it was clean, convenient to everything, very roomy, quiet and safe. Enjoyed having the backyard/pool very much! We felt very much "at home" and are looking forward to returning next year!
very spacious,bright,cheerfull,well equipted. Only concern was the twin beds, the mattresses were over the hill but more importantly the bed frames were unstable. We will be back as will others that stayed with us.
We love S. Padre and have been going there for vacation since out honeymoon there 24 years ago. We have stayed in a few houses some bigger, some not, but this one was good. Perhaps you should switch one of the 2 queen size beds in the one room for one of the twins in the other bedroom. It would be more couple friendly. Also I guess we never realized no additional toilet paper or paper towels are offered. We quickly ran out of toilet paper with 7 people, but it is stated in the rental agreement that no extra is provided. Loved the pool and BBQ. We had a blast as we always do.
We had a wonderful time at Casa de Chavo, having our own pool was the best part!!
Also, the other windows were missings some slats. Other than that it was a nice house for a family to stay. We plan on coming back.

Very nice condo. Some slight cleaning issues when we checked in but nothing major. A few bugs around but its hard to keep them out when you have different people in and out of a rental unit. Owner's storage closet was unlocked and there seemed to be a lot of open food/staple items in there like sugar which would seem to be part of the reason for the bug problem. Pool pump did not work very well but it was almost too cold for swimming anyway. Home served its purpose well and we would definitely consider booking here again in the future. The management company was very accommodating and allowed my parents to pick up the keys since my wife and I were not going to arrive until very late at night.
Overall stay was comfortable and the kids loved the pool that was a big plus.
Overall this was a cute house. The inside was open and fairly clean, however I think the owner could invest even a small amount of money that they are making off of this property back into the house. For example, we had to change the sheets and pillow cases and when we removed the ones that were on, all of the pillows and the mattress were COVERED in pee stains, red stains, brown stains, big stains and small stains. It was actually extremely, extremely disgusting to realize what we were actually sleeping on; sheet or no sheet, pillow case or no pillow case. There was also a leak in the bathroom, so whenever we showered water got all over the floor. It looked as if it was coming out from underneath the actual tub... Also, the front yard had piles of wood and brush/debris scattered around. It looked like it may have belonged to the neigbor but it was pretty messy and dirty. All in all, it was a good location, not too far from the beach, etc. I would strongly recommend that the owner invest a little bit of money and replace the disgusting stained pillows and mattresses at the least. The property management were very helpful tbough with the reservation and check in/out process.
Overall we had a great time at this location. The staff is fabulous. the house needs a little work, painting, weed pulling and new living room furniture. I cleaned the floors on a regular basis but I had to buy a broom and dust pan. A vacuum would be helpful.
this property is rated for a spring break destination but was very welcoming for my family and our party.the condo is spacious and the master and second bedroom mattresses were very comfortable. the location to the beach was an easy walk but go early because the access fills up quick. the property management were very nice and helpful. the property itself was clean but parking was a big problem: there is very min. space. another problem was the condition of the private pool; the water was very dirty. the whole first day was spent with dingy pool water. it had not been cleaned in anticipation of our arrival. the next day I contacted the mgmt at 9am and the maintenance did not arrive til 3pm. apparently there was a problem with the filter.VERY BAD!it finally cleared up on the evening of the 2nd day. we made the best of it but honestly expected better service for the price we paid! I would consider another stay as long as all amenities were in order.
I liked it very much, it has a lot of space and it is very clean. The pool was a bit cold and we couldn't get in but that was the only problem.
Pool pump was not working, the pool was dirty and not well maintained had to spend more time on the beach than what I was expecting to.Other than that stay was very satisfying I enjoyed it very much.The house was clean and well maintained.
Loved the tile floors throughout for easy cleanup.
I would say that previous comments were pretty much right on. Any problems we had, like finding a broom, were quickly solved by management. The few TEXAS size bugs we saw...well I am telling myself they were not cockroaches???
